Here’s some of the unusual uses for Vicks VapoRub:
Apply on your feet
When you apply Vicks on your feet, you will get a nighttime cough relief. All you have to do is rub it all over your feet and then put on socks.
Decongestant
Vicks is commonly used to decongest the chest and throat area. To relieve cough and congestion symptoms, Vicks is applied on the upper part of the chest.
Headaches
Vicks can also help you relief headache, all you have to do is rub a small amount of it in your temples and forehead. The scent of the VapoRub will help relieve the pain by releasing pressure in your head.
Mosquito repellent
You can use Vicks to repel mosquitoes. Apply Vicks to your skin and clothes to repel mosquitoes. If you got bitten by a mosquito, apply Vicks and cover the area with Band-Aid.
Muscle Pain
You can also use Vicks VapoRub if you have muscle pain. Apply Vicks on your sore muscle by rubbing a small amount of it. Vicks can help the circulation of the muscle and it can provide a quick relief.
Nail Fungus
If you have nail fungus and you want to get rid of it, you can use Vicks. Apply Vicks on your affected toenail/s. You can see the result within just a few days, when your nail/s turns dark it only means that the Vicks is killing the fungus. As your toenails grow, the dark part will disappear. Keep applying Vicks on your toenails for two weeks to eliminate the remaining bacteria and to fully cleanse nail beds.
Paper cuts and splinters
Apply a small amount of Vicks on your cuts and splinters to speed up the healing process and to avoid any infection.
Prevent cats from scratching on hard surfaces
Cats love to scratch on hard surfaces such as doors, walls, and windows. Put some Vicks on your walls, doors, windows, and furniture to prevent your cats from scratching them. If your cat likes to scratchyour arms and legs, you can also apply Vicks on them. Cats don’t like the smell of VapoRub and they will steer clear.
Ticks and bugs
Apply Vicks VapoRub immediately if you get bitten by bugs or ticks.
